MODULE 1: INTRODUCING THE SOLUTION FOCUS

One of the secrets that made the Solution Focused approach so successful is the principle to uncover and build on what is already working well. Whether you are a manager, team leader, HR manager or trainer, you can use the SF to generate immediate results. In this practical and very interactive workshop you will learn about basic SF tools that you can start using right away, and you will work out how SF can help you and your organisation.

Petra Müller-Demary is co-founder of Sequoia Consulting. She has worked for more than 20 years as a manager, trainer, coach and consultant in Management Development. Eight years ago she discovered the power of the Solution Focused approach which made a fundamental shift in her work. She hosted the SOLWorld conference in Bucharest 2010.

MODULE 2: SOLUTION FOCUSED LEADERSHIP AND COOPERATION

One of the most creative and fitting applications of solution focused thinking has been in the world of leadership where the approach has offered a technology for putting into practice many of the leanings about organisational effectiveness emerging from the field of positive psychology and from the work of the Gallup Institute. This workshop will explore in a practical way an approach that is associated with engagement, flexibility and cooperation: being at your best, sparkling moments, skills inventories, disciplined observation, freedom within a framework, multi-scaling, change your boss and more.



Evan George has been working with the solution focused approach since 1987. A founder partner at BRIEF in London, Evan's work over the past 10 years has focused increasingly on the solution focused approach to leadership, coaching, team coaching and building cooperation.

MODULE 3: SOLUTION FOCUSED IFLOW AND MAGIC

What is the best way for you to manage your time? “iFLOW” builds on people’s strengths to help them find practical “time investments” they can make immediately, to get out of “time-debt” and start enjoying peak performance.
Agreement Focused Negotiation is a Solution Focused approach to building agreements that really work and that both sides want to keep, built in a way that uses time well and builds stronger working relations. In the heat of the moment, people can draw on the “ART” and “MAGIC” models to successfully navigate the trickiest of negotiations.

Shakya Kumara is a Solution Focused trainer and coach, helping people to develop since 1992. He thrives on the development of new training models, including the iFLOW model of Personal Effectiveness and the MAGIC model of Negotiation. His background ranges from blue-sky software research to leadership and management, from charities to multinationals, from retail to high-technology.

This hands-on workshop will enable you to immediately employ a powerful set of coaching questions in management and leadership conversations. Throughout these two days you will practice and experience tools that have proven to work simply and effectively. Tackle your current business challenges on the spot and start building solutions for your daily work situations e.g. with five minute coaching sequences for added value in a short time and with a new tangible scaling device for solution-building and follow-through.

Peter Szabó is a Master Certified Coach specialising in brief coaching processes with executives. He has trained over 1500 professional coaches and teaches Brief Coaching worldwide. Peter has 15 years of corporate management experience and more than 10 years of experience in leading his own company Solutionsurfers. He is co-author of “Brief Coaching for Lasting Solutions” with Insoo Kim Berg and “Coaching Plain and Simple” with Daniel Meier.
